you don't have to "toil like hell" but it is wrong of them to take away your money... Money is essential to survival, without money you will strave to death. And if you have lots of them, you won't strave and you can buy things you want, even a top position in a company and you won't need to toll like hell anymore. And in this world especially Singapore, you need cash, lots of em!

Money is needed for survival. Shortage of it leads easily to unhappiness but excess of it hardly elevates happiness. The enough factor of money is also a relative and very subjective matter. How money is spent also affects whether you can buy happiness.
Yes, I believe money can buy happiness especially short term happiness. However, I have hardly seen money to have been able to buy long term happiness. -

If you accept that it is pointless to keep wanting more and more money then:
1. When is enough money enough?
2. How to stop this desire to want more and more?
If you can figure that out... you are a "god" -
got money = got power
although money is not everything but ... once u got and u can do alot of thing

Money will be enough when it fulfils your basic needs: food, bills, lodging, travel expenses, medical, etc, etc. Any more is considered a luxury.
More money = more desire to spend unnecessary.
Stopping the desire to want more is to acknowledge that "you are not a slave to money". You make use of the money, NOT the money make use of you.
