  my earning more than enuff lah.. my friend earn aroung 2.1K.. KNN he kena get approved... i tried citibank, standard chart, posb... all reject me.. y huh y huh? wtfffffffffffffffff

  You know that with the setting up of the credit bureau a few years ago,information about a person's financial credibitilty is shared btw banks to ensure they know more about a person's financial feasiblity b4 they approve of more credit facility to a certain person.

  alot factors come into play:
  
  a. your monthly / annual income? Does it borderline meet or far exceed 30K?
  b. your employer - what industry are you in, big M&C or small SME? Certain industry/company, I know they very careful & not anyhow approve.
  c. your credit record - eg: are you owing any banks any loans ?
  d. also, length of your working - ie if you have only been working a few months, maybe not so soon.
  
  Another factor could be, you did not fill in the form accurately or fail to provide certain information. I was rejected twice by certain local bank until i fed up & not apply. Alternatively, try to apply those smaller banks (more desperate) like Maybank / Stanchart / ABN
  
  If all else fail, you can always apply for debit card first & later request to upgrade to credit card. its always easier if you have some prior banking relationship. Or wait till one of those telemarketers call you & apply, its faster.

  Another cases is that your friend is holiding a supplelmentary card or a secured credit card... Secured credit card you don't need any doc to prove that you are working just need a SGD$10,000 of deposit in a particular bank ...( note : The amount keep must be fixed deposit)
