I was at the city hall MRT on Monday. I was waiting for my mom.
While i was standing around the city hall MRT, some indian from some organization came and told me some sad story about him going to jail and unable to find a job. At first he said that it was not a donation. After telling his story, he told me to buy a pen for charity for $2!!!! The pen was freaking ugly. Out of compassion i gave him the 2 bucks. I thought that by buying a pen, i would have an excuse not to buy another pen from those ppl.
In like a few seconds, a few other people from the same organization came and wanted me to buy another pen for $2. I told them that i had already bought one. But they insisted that i buy another. I was like WTF????!!! I refused to buy another pen.
Then came this auntie who wanted me to buy another pen. I was f**king pissed already and she still insisted that i buy the pen. I told her off that i had already bought one, that it was very expensive and the pen was damn ugly. Then, SHE RETALIATED BY TELLING ME OFF THAT IT WAS FOR CHARITY. I wish i could just slap her
I think the entire f**king thing was just a f**king SCAM.... -

We shud all becareful about these pple collecting donations for charity. I heard that some pple are actually "employed" to do such collections, out of which a percentage would be their keep at the end of the day! This means that these pple collecting donations are not volunteers wan.
Since the GST has been raised to help the poor, it should also include charities! So why do we still have to donate? If we want to donate out of our own free will, we can always send money to the organisations wad. Having someone come up to us for donations in public is a kind of blackmail more akin to someone pointing the gun at our heads! -

i met one of them before. the 2$ pen thingy at bugis.but i dont think its a scam or what. its just that they use sad stories to make u buy it.

i kena be4 at vivocity. a bangla-type guy came forward and gave me a card. he said this is for me and i was wondering issit a donation thingy cauz thr was staple bullet on it. he insisted on asking me to open it, and i did. hell i was not wrong and i saw the paper saying all the rubbish for donation thing. damn! this scammers really uses their brain and creativity

My pal would have them talk endlessly by asking questions on purpose then say dun wanna buy. I would have treated them as if they doesn't exist. Hahahaa. -
