why even bother to talk to dem?Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Stupid conmen. The other day some idiots claiming to be HDB inspectors wanted to sell us a new padlock. We promptly asked them to go stuff it.
them buggers were fast. there was a large group of them, attacking each unit in pairs. i thought it was a police raid or something.Originally posted by hiphop2009:why even bother to talk to dem?
for me, ANYBODY who are selling things or are claiming to be inspectors, i will juz wave my hand and ask dem get lost or say nt interested.
if dey claim dey are from HDB, i will ask dem for their particulars and call HDB first before i even talk to dem abt anything. it works, and i can say, it is ur first line of defence away from troubles.
do nt be afraid even if dey are in big groups, because firstly, consumers are not even be intimidated or forced to buy or engage in any services dat dey are not too willing to.Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:them buggers were fast. there was a large group of them, attacking each unit in pairs. i thought it was a police raid or something.

i dunnoe what to expose him or not la, later break his rice bowl oso bad ma. let this surves as a 'warning' so as to see the "plate" thing before you believe what the person said.Originally posted by the.owl:whoa lao your pic is crap la, firstly never show the face, how u want people to track him down? secondly that thing is so small and blurry how can people tell whether its HDB or not HDB? useless pic please.
Originally posted by beggarchief:Yap, agree. By law this is not a con or anything unless he say he is from HDB or some government unit for housing. But the main thing he offer is repair your poles for 1000 dollars, he can charge you 1 million also can. As long as you agree to it and he does it for you after you pay money, it is not anything illegal.
[b]This is not con or scam. It is a case of deception and unethical business practice.
Just send this/these people off and not to fall into their trap. Usually the costs charge by these people are much much higher than the market price.
There is nothing the police or CASE or HDB can do. The said salesman had not violated any laws. Unless he claimed that he was from HDB when he was not, then it is another matter.
