I long time never go wedding dinner le....
Usually when I ask them to give me 1/3 coke 1/3 orange and 1/3 spirt drinks, give me the
looked. -
I think you people probably enjoy a western style wedding more, like I do. Probably because for western wedding, you are only invited if you're a family or close friend to the bride and/or groom. Seats are usually allocated for the guests and the hosts will always try to group those who know each other on the same table if possible.
As for food, usually only 3 courses (Entree, main and dessert) and you need not to share with anyone. Of course you don't get the nice Asian cuisine like shark fins soup etc but it's more hygenic.
There is also dance floor at most western wedding receptions so that the bride & groom as well as all the guests can dance the night away. I think it's more personal and nicer attending wedding where you can mingle with the bridal party. -
I'm typically very choosy in attending weddings. I dun go to weddings where I'm close to the person.
There are many weddings where they will invite everybody they remotely know.
That way I only attend maybe about 20% of weddings that I am invited to.
I usually don't attend relatives or cousin's wedding as I'm not close to them. In fact, I think I only got a couple of weddings left to attend as my close friends are all getting married.
I dun like weddings where people literally come and eat, and leave. No interaction at all with the married couple. I go for f***??!? I know some auntie damn gian png one. Go, whole family give 50 dollar ang pao then complain if no XO. This not me. I prefer a wedding oriented around closeness. -
Weddings like this usually dictated by the parents side. I'm sure alot of couples also know what you guys are thinking about this type of thing.
But get married here most have to go thru parents and the parents confirm will want a grand banquet even if the couple wants a really simple wedding.
So in some ways it can't be helped if the old folks are still around. -
My cousin is like that one.
But he didn't snatch the food lah.
He just eat more then when he see his parent's table still got left over, he go there and eat lah.
After that, the waitress will bring the whole tray over....
But he will be full eventually lah.
Btw, I only like to eat the delicacies. -
Hmm, how many of you guys will adopt your own parents' thinking that you must hold a grand banquet or else you will be very unhappy?
