AndrewPKYAP is asking for admission to IMH to understand what is schizophrenia. Before you claim split mind or mindset, understand it is a split from reality. Next, before it really gets out of topic, we must understand humans are sexual creatures but we do have the odd deviants who are totally asexual. So please do not claim that Singaporean males are of a single mindset only.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:What you say is true... I was at a Hong Kong site and the people there commented that Singapore forums talk nothing intelligent and mostly only about crude sex...
I think that this is because Singaporeans are in a sexual no man's land. The people are confused. Prostitution is illegal but just go to Geylang and it is openly available.
A little schizophrenic don't you think?
Cinema Restricted shows are so mild but you can see bestiality on the net.
Very schizophrenic don't you think?
So when people are confused... they have to try to figure it all out for themselves and one way is to express themselves in the forums. Until they come to terms with it, the issue is in their head all the time and they talk about it constantly.
It is only natural that many Singaporeans think about sex all the time since they are suppressed and it does not make any sense.
I'm sorry that I did not knock on every single door in Singapore to come to the most accurate conclusion then. I mean, what do you expect. Of course I base my knowledge on available resources.I only have one thing to say. the TS is looking only at the group of singaporean guys who have no life, no where to go, nothing to do, but to sit at home in front of the computer and type the kind of .... that the TS is referring to.
Pls don't drag everyone else down as well.[/quote]
I cannot disagree with you, you know... BUT!
Did I say ALL Singapore guys are like that?
Really, you people need to read more carefully. @_@;In Singaporean forums (mainly sgforums, hardwarezone and yahoo), quite a number of local boys LOVES to post about girl stuff, and ahem, sex.Originally posted by dxdx:TS, you're obviously assuming your knowledge based on several forums (2?) and stereotyping isnt a good thing.
besides your being biased to your own sex too.
SlipshadeContrary to your belief, I believe that those guys are teenagers. If they are adults, then they must be immature cretins.
how do you know the person writing is not under age? or 90 years old man?
In other countries, porn you can see on TV, if you see everyday, what's there to talk about? In singapore, they ban this ban that lah, can't even buy playboy mag, sianz.Originally posted by Slipshade:In Singaporean forums (mainly sgforums, hardwarezone and yahoo), quite a number of local boys LOVES to post about girl stuff, and ahem, sex.
It's not considered as unusual to see several topics on the same subjects - hot girls (eg. which body part you like to bio) and ahem, sex.
I've been to other forums too, both Asia-based and of the West. Both types naturally do not avoid such topics, but they are most usually vulgar and crude, which is the exact way our local boys talks about... well, you know. *points above*
And the number of those topics, cannot beat even one of Singaporean forums even when combined together.
Even in those non-Singaporean forums, who were the guys who goes crude (about the S topic), and would lose control of their hormones by harping on hot girls and the S topic the most?
Yep, you got it right. It's the Singaporean guy.
From almost out of nothing, a typical Singaporean guy seems to have the special ability to sudden say something sexual, which might or might not be out of context.
Worse thing is, it seems to be a local culture. Ah, those very memorable 'cheeb*e', 'c**t', 'lanji*o' etc. are frequently used and few seems to think that something's wrong until someone cared enough to point it out to them. Even so, they might laugh and brush it off.
Singapore = conservative society? BS. Those Western media should pay a visit to our local forums and see how much we love talking about female bodyparts, genitals and ah, the S topic.
I wonder if this is a by-product of too much suppression from the government (eg. censorship).
I'm not whining or something. Just very curious why something like this is happening.

I concur!Originally posted by red_amoeba:Dear Slipshade,
Which of those foreign forums have you been to that are "clean" and stay away from "sex", those religious forums huh?
If you look at sgforums it self, there are various topics for different discussions - if you are looking to discuss serious topics, there are the relevant topics. If you look at Chit Chat or Bar and draw the conclusion that Sg guys always post sex, then its ambigious. Thats what Chit Chat and Bar is for. If I want to talk about computers, I won't post in Chit Chat. The name Chit Chat and Bar already suggest the theme of topics.
And for your information, there are lup sup forum sites in HK, China, Taiwan and US - and the topics they post are more crude and more explicit than what you get here.
And I also disagree that only guys are involved in posting such threads, if you look at some of the blogs that the girls have put up, you will know.
You already know. So why start a topic to talk about them? They ARE afterall, TEENAGERS. Raging hormones and immature mind. Let them be. Geez.Originally posted by Slipshade:Contrary to your belief, I believe that those guys are teenagers. If they are adults, then they must be immature cretins.
Originally posted by SoulDivine:I do not see any major issues with Singaporean guys except that some of them spent too much time in front of the computer. In my opinion, even those guys who posted sex crap in the bar forum are just jokers trying to make people laugh and make the bar forum more lively.
Thread starter should not take the information in bar forum as facts in reality.

Here goes the comprehension problem again. I'm not even going to bother telling you the real purpose of this topic.Originally posted by Quinsy:You already know. So why start a topic to talk about them? They ARE afterall, TEENAGERS. Raging hormones and immature mind. Let them be. Geez.
i dun see why the refraining from talk abt sex is a virtue. probably its onli my opinion but care to further more explain it?Another comprehension problem.
wat i think that talking abt sex is juz another common topic among men juz like talking abt the latest season of ladies clothings could be also a common topic among women. if u dun like it den dun read it or walk away.

Hmm
1) Yes, you didn't say that
2) However, I didn't say that you said it either.
Regardless, it is clear that most of the responses presume that you referred to singaporean males in general. It is thus very curious why that's so, isn't it? Even when I blatantly wrote 'QUITE A NUMBER'.
So regardless of whether you said it specifically or otherwise, people read it as that.
If I said "some pigs ah.. sun shine so bright already still haiz..", and if only you and I were in the room, do you think i'm referring to pigs in the pig farm? I could also argue "I didn't say it was you" - but obviously both you and I know who i'm referring to.Honestly, I would think you were referring to someone else instead of any of us. I'm not saying this to refute you, but simply because that's the truth. I'm the sort of person who believes almost anything. I'm not so overly suspicious as to think, or even know that you are in fact speaking of me.
This innuendo cannot be avoided in all forms of communication and unfortunately, if you didn't intend to drag all singaporean guys down, your phrasing of the your words did (imo)IMO, I did not. I think it's poor understanding of the text, and probably also due to skimming.
