It's to my impression that quite a number of parents are bad at parenting. Have you seen how some parents dress their little girls up? They dressed their girls up as if they were going to prostitute their daughters. I think parents nowadays have 2 mindsets:
1) Give children the best.
2) Give them what I do not have when I was a kid.
And sadly enough, some parents, lack maturity, common sense and ultimately, control over these mindsets.
What results from that are unreasonable parents along with unruly spoilt brats all over Singapore. -
you'll never listen to those who're older (ESPECIALLY your dad & mum)
and you'll think you're old enough to decide at least some of the things you want in life (like a bf/gf)
and you'll think you're pretty much ready to take on the world (in particular with matters of getting attached).
it'll only be after you get a little older (20s?) that you'll understand why people disapproved of getting attached so early. -
I'm fine with it, but adolescents of that age should get too obsessed with it. The feeling of being in love is nice and I wouldn't deny the kids that.
However, as they grow their outlook in life, their goals and what they want may change, and their partners may not be suitable anymore.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen in adulthood, but things are usually more settled then. -

Not against it. Had my 1st bf when I was 15. I might not have thought so back then, but 13~16 yr old teens are very impressionable. Our society was too backward to handle these situations / guide these kids along.. it was a taboo subject and we couldn't get any help about it without getting screwed. So it was very much up to the individual's maturity (it shouldn't be that way, too risky w/o guidance).
It's still the same today. -
Im ok with teens dating. but not underage sex. They oughta be supervised and educated.

Hmm.. I am 19 and never been in a bgr before. No offence, but are you trying to say that kids should study and no care about anything else. I mean, kids shouldn't only study, they should have a life other than studying. And having a r/s when they are young(which is mostly doom to fail) makes them more experienced next time when they are facing r/s problems.Originally posted by Slipshade:What kind of experience? i think at this age (13-16), life should be more about studies and friends. it's youth ! don't spend too much time on someone yet.

not to forget that some people in single-sex schools do not come into much contact with the opp gender, so when they do, they get a bit crazy/excited.

For goodness sake, kids nowadays are so immature and childish. I mean, just look at their behaviour. I see 13 and even 16 year old boys playing catching during recess and talk about Pokemon but they have relationships. Are they ready to have relationship?
Most of them don't even know what they're doing. See the problem? It's just so annoying to see 13-14 year olds holding hands and blablabla then they break up after two weeks getting together. Then cry like there is no tomorrow for a day, the day after, they're with someone else, What's the problem? 13-15 year olds are immature. Maybe >15 okaylah. -

I think sixteen and above should be a good age to start... but only if it doesn't affect studies and the kids doesn't do any naughty things. -

Girls are usually the one who thinks it as an expression of love. Guys are more able to tell whether it's lust or love, and the oldest tactic in the book is to coerce the girls into having sex with them by using 'love'. Yep, I fully agree with TS. Parents should be more careful in dressing up their children as if they dress as sluts in their chioldhood, these children will dress worse when they grow older.....

hahaha, of course there are guys like this all over the globe. but am I wrong in thinking that some guys in a particular part of the world situated right next to malaysia are a bit too open, perhaps even to the extent of desperate, when it comes to relationships?
