  Mouse and rat - one of them has a longer tail. Rat is also slightly larger.
  
  Hamster - looks so alike to mouse and rat? You need to check your eyes.

  Comparing Mouse and Hamster, mouse has a long tail (almost as long as its body length) whereas the hamster has almost no tail...A hamster looks more like a fur ball too...
  
  Rat is much larger than mouse and hamster, serveral times larger when full grown.
  
  If you put 2 (stranger) male mouse into the same cage, they will fight. But 2 (stranger) male rat in same cage will not fight. Female rats will fight i think.

  Other than the obvious of size and color.
  
  Some of the less than obvious:
  A rat can swim over a mile in heavy choppy seas, a mouse cannot swim near that.
  A rat can climb to the very tip of of the tallest tree and hold on, it's doubtful a mouse can get up the base.
  A rat can chew trough the hardest of steel insulation used on wire although a mouse can chew throw anything other than metal.

  a mouse is a smaller version of rat, a rat is a uglier version of mouse and the hamster is just a cuter version of mouse
