  I've had this problem with my mobile number in the first few months that I had it. It was probably due to the fact that Singtel recycles their numbers, so the previous user of that number failed to update everyone on his new number, and so they called and got me instead of that guy.
  
  Also there was a problem with my home number. There were quite a few people calling in the mistaken belief that it's Fedex. Thankfully this problem has been cleared up and we haven't received any such calls for a long while now.

  Last time got one auntie keep on call my house say if we got pi fa fishball anot.
  Everyday call, keep on say never, still keep on calling.
  Then my dad got to change the house number.

  Since the first day i got my current hp number, I have this problem already. I called back starhub complain but the customer service said can't help me!!! unless i change my hp number but I need to pay $30. **stupid!!**
  
  So now...first 2 times I will told the person nicely that "u called wrong number." ....but third time....i will get his/her name and number, then scold the person and make sure they won't call again.

  my experience more weird. my phone rang, caller id stated HOME. i picked up. "Hello, *some funny name* pls?" i told the caller wrong number and hung up. i checked my phone directory. indeed from home!

  its common la, mine oso duno how many years old liao...once in awhile get some chinese uncle or indian lady calling ask for some wierd ppl...sometimes its juz ppl record wrong number la...if they ask me what my number i will still say to confirm them...if they record wrongly, n u dun tell them to confirm, later they will call again coz they think they dialled wrongly....
  
  then again some ppl r juz plain stupid n call over n over again when u told them NO SUCH PERSON LA KNN

  Call you, then find out call wrong number. Both talk for a while to confirm call wrong numner. then hang up.
  
  A second later, that person call again and realised you are the same person he/she just spoken to and found out he/she just wrongly dialled.
  
  he/she will never say sorry for 2nd time but rather just hang up after hearing your "hello".

  Every once in a while I get a call, I say "hello", the call cutoff.
  I believe its students calling their teacher, hear my voice, know its wrong number. Sometimes I receive the SMS for the teacher. That's how I know its students. It has stopped for now, but I know it will happen again, next year.

  yea freakin stupid...lol mainly it was rude la...i mean at least if he/she called again, say a word sry ull feel better la...call then juz hang up then make u run to the phone like idiot like that...rude sia

  him: oh... i think we had both jus been sabotaged. btw adeline, u have a nice voice. and hi again, i am mike.

  LOL, got one time some couple brought their baby to my house when we hosting a dinner lor, then the baby dunno press what on my phone end up my phone was automatically calling someone non stop, and I dunno how to stop it. that guy who kept getting calls threatened to call the police and I explained to him that the baby dunno do what but he doesnt believe

  apparently my home no is similar to that of an indian temple somewhere cos since young i get the occasional calls from ppl who burst into *$@()*!*)!!!??? (tamil) when i pick up the phone.
  
  but my family's used to it so we just say 'wrong number' and they promptly apologise (in english) and hang up.

  i got dis acquaintance whose lumber is same as mine except fer the last digit. eben aft we no longer keep in touch, stil got ppl call lookin fer him. me juz directed dem to call the kerrect lumber.
  
  n u knw wat my aunty collik normally does? they call lookin fer dis person e.g. ah hoe rite. den she will say ah hoe is bathing. her reason is these toopid ppl oways press wrg lumber and she doesnt wan to tok/explain much to dem. wait they press again wun call bk one.
