  devil can sue sph for defamation (libel form) but it will be quite difficult.
  
  1stly, he can sue because the article very clearly points to him and quinsy, even though the report carried no names, no nicks whatsoever - the very fact that everyone posting in this thread knows that the report is referring to Q & D is enough to show that the article is referring to them directly.
  
  that's possibly one point lost for SPH.
  
  however, the reporter never once used his/her own words since everything can be said to be "quoted" in a sense from all the posts here. with the article carrying statements like "her friends said.. she said.. he said.." etc.
  
  also, as everything is "quoted" - they are "facts". not fact as in the content is fact, but it is a fact that so and so said that and the newspaper merely printed that so and so said that << fact is that he/she got say. but no indication as to what he/she says is fact/rubbish
  
  as such, the truth is an ultimate defence against any form of defamation suit. on top of that, both parties did admit to the outing, the cinema, the hands etc. - which make them facts of the case aka the truth.
  
  other possible legal defences are like "in public interest" etc. but i don't think they need to be discussed since it is quite obvious that devil has no case against SPH.
  
  in short, if devil wants to sue, i'd strongly recommend AGAINST it since SPH has some of the best lawyers around and they obviously have the money to afford these lawyers and after u look at all the possible points in a defamation case, devil really has very few points except that the article is referring to him.
  
  other than that, devil was not defamed in the report imo.

  Don't think so. They're pretty smart people. No names, nicks or whatsoever mentioned. They just mislead people with 'misleading informations'... The rest is just up to people to hook up with the bait and take the casual remarks..
