I wonder have any one of u been to jeju or ji zhou before?
Jeju is an island between Korea and Japan. It is under Korean rule now.
In Jeju, they have this huge runestone with a carving on it. Perhaps carved 2000+ years ago, the writing were in ancient Chinese script. Signed by Xu Fu the man himself.
It states, "Xu Fu reaches here, and will continue to head east." (An arrow was carved out too)
The arrows points to Japan.

Sino Cultures, Koreans(Gao Li), Vietnamese(An Nan) , Japanese(Wo Kou) were all once vassel states to China once. Kowtowing to the Chinese Emperor. Thats why China is called "zhung guo" or middle kingdom. A title all neighbouring states respect.
Even till now, China is still refered as Mainland. -

Back then, most of japanese langauge, speech and written is even more chinese. Peoms, documents, teachings were like 90% in Hanji, or Kanji. In fact, Japanese sounded more like Hokkien, or fujianese.
This is because, Sino-Japanese cultures reached zenith point during the Tang Dynasty period, during that time, Chinese sounded more like Hokkien. (now, the Chinese we speak now is mandarin, which is northern chinese)
Later years during the Ming Era, japanese offered traded and raided the fujianese shores, further increase contact and conflict. -

I have a Vietnamese colleague that came to Singapore for a few days. He came for a few days. He said actually vietnamese language is 70% chinese langauge, and he could read most of Chinese text. Just that it would be pronounced differently in vietnamese.
He taught me a few words in vietnamese, and was surprised that i could effortlessly pronounce those vietnamese words like a vietnam local. I guessed it sounded more like a chinese dialect ba... -
I found the professor who made the conclusion to Jinmu's identity. He is Professor Wei4 (the wei4 for defend) Ting2 (the ting2 for support) Sheng1 (the sheng1 for giving birth) of Hong Kong. He claimed this theory in his book published in 1950 by Hong Kong Shang1 Wu4 Yin4 Shu1 Guan3. During Tongzhi period in late Qing Dynasty, a clerk of the diplomat, wrote a book(ISBN:753252880) that mentioned about the custom of comemorate Xu Fu in Japan. -
