Yes cos it's getting more competitive- everyone fighting for a place in local uni, more so with so many foreign students in S'pore.
Even in uni., people are no longer satisfied with GPA of 3.5, most aiming for 4.0 & up! -

I am in poly.................i am aimin for local uni,esp NTU......................i am a JC-qualified student..............................and so are my other frens frm the same sec sch and is in the same poly as me!.....................and wat i am sayin is tt poly is goin 2 get competitive.....................and u cant view it as a 2nd class status and compare it to 1st class JC!

If you are in a poly, and you dont make the effort to go for classes and study, why do you even bother to go to poly?

I everytime skip lec and tutorial, still can get second in class... The 1st in my class even better... she never attended any lectures since year 1... until the teachers started taking attendence...
Makes me wonder wat lectures are for...

1) Results can only make it to poly cos never put in effort for O levels.
2) Good O level results but choose poly over jc becos of the freedom.
3) Good O level results but choose poly over jc becos of certain interests in the courses.
Apparently, the type 1 and type 2 people will choose to skip lectures and slack more mah... -

- If you choose poly over JC becos u like a certain course tht is not offered in JC, it's OK.
- If you choose poly over JC becos you already planned out the route for your tertiary education, it's OK.
- If you choose poly over JC becos you already confirmed what you want to specialise in and dont wanna waste time in JC, it's OK.
- If you choose poly over JC becos u dont like to wear uniform, it just shows how childish you are. -

U forgot those who don't get to choose at all.
Those good olevel results pple choose to go poly to have better life. And one of the reasons why there is better life is because they go poly to pwn noobs.
otherwise it's their interest.
And they are people who are sick of studying/mugging and feel that they have put in their best in olevels so they dun wan to battle alvls anymore.
Yea heard of diploma/degree holder but if u kenna force to go poly then have fun good luck chances are u gonna die in poly if you can't even make it durin olevel.
jc vs poly is very hard to say also cause there are lots of variety of people in poly.
but other than that, the result of the above is rather selfexplainatory. and the former owns the latter hands down in many ways. -
