TS, it is obvious you have been living a sheltered life in Singapore. Sheltered, as in being protected from exposure to the ills of society. Stay that way or you'll be shocked at what you'll find if you go searching for the ugly side of this island.

Let's just say that what I've seen in the good schools, can be equally as bad, if not worse. It's just that when you waste yourselves in private parties, less people see it that's all.
Who says those who come from our premier schools are goody-two-shoes? Only those who have a romantic notion would think so. Perhaps your neighbourhood ah bengs smoke, drink and beat up people, but the "goodypants" may do much more terrible things that people do not notice, that's all.

Actually, there is a fairly large amt of teens in SG smoking, and having underage sex. Every few months, Today Newspaper will have a super debate about teen sex one. For sure. Just look at the forum section =\
Also, SG kiddies dont take drugs cuz, well, SG no drugs for them to take.. -
not true la..its jus a stereotype that teenage students work hard towards exam..some dun really care..some got killed by stress n gave up thier life la..stuff such as underage sex also do happen.jus tat u dun know..smoking n alcohol are also involved in some students la..it jus differs from wat school u are looking at.

The public generally thinks that top schools are good in their studies and have even better conduct. But what i noticed in my school shown otherwise.
The NA stream gets heavily involved with porn, alcohol and smoking.
Surprisingly, the Express stream gets involved as well (though not as much). I can hear people from the top few classes shouting for attention as they announce they have 'new stock' (presumely porn). And people start crowding around as they start bluetooth-ing the 'new stock' around. Somewhat like a amoeba division.
But, the problem of smoking and alcohol is much lesser. Except for a few black sheeps. Nonetheless, alcohol is still a common sight in upper sec chalets/sleepovers.
I heard loads of first and second hand stories of girls in my school aged 14 to 15 getting screwed. Or Sec 1 students petting in the classroom. Not good at all. -
TS: maybe its the bunch of people you mix with or maybe all this time your teen friends are having happening nights of drugs, sex and alcohol and you were just kept in the dark.
you think sg teens are that good? you are truly blind.

When I read your post, it really seems that you do not know the real Singapore. perhaps you're from some elite school, but as for me, being in the top 20 government school, it is different. In my school or perhaps most schools, there are problems of smoking, alcohol and underage sex.
Still, I would have to be happy to say that we are generally quite under control compared to the British or American teens in which their bad behaviours bring publicity all the way to the East.

then i come my current sch then i realise i was wrong.
from wat i saw and heard from my friends from other schs,
the situation totally different from mine.
u have only seen a small portion of sg teens.
not all of them as innocent and kwai as u think.
go out more.. ask friends from other schs..
then u will find that u are wrong. -

SG as you can see is a small dot. Easy to be controlled and manipulate. What is ideal? Drugs? Smoke? At young age? Or do we perceive it as freedom? Or do we see them as evil. Both. So should we pursue them? I ask again. What is ideal?
Differences in cultures. In religions. In individualistic preferences. What is ideal? An integrated sole superior set of culture/religion? Or a harmonious network of multi-racial cultures? I ask again. What is ideal?
The world we know for sure decides on one thing. Good over bad. Right over wrong. If we have total goods and rights. Absence of bads and wrongs. Good or bad?
I leave my views and opinions in short sentences. In questions. To provoke your thoughts. To think deeply. To truly understand yourself. We are all humans. But not the same. Same maybe but not identical. Sorry to waste the time of non-thinkers. Congrats to the thinkers.
