Oh! The pig nose turtle is so damn cute. I always thought they were gentle nice turtles, and would be so tempted to touch their special shells.
Saw the terappin photo, never knew they can grow so HUGE. Used to have a box turtle, Malayan box turtle. Loved it to bits, but the shit stinks the whole house. Does anyone have the same problem ? It was a very meat eating turtle , mom insisted on feeding it fresh prawns (pampered) = stinking shit .
Rearing a snapping turtle, is more dangerous than having a police dog at home, coz these turtles are heartless

i think only the land tortoises are gentle..
i've not come across an aquatic or semi-aquatic turtle (except sea turtles) which are not bad-tempered and aggressive

The one on page 1 is a soft shell turtle which is known for it's bad temper
Err actually snappy turtles are boring
All it does is sit under water wiggling it's tongue to attract a fish to bite it then it will snap it's jaw shut
I can't say much if you put yr hand near their mouth

i put it, alone, in a large glass tank (about 1mx45cm) with about 5cm water.
feed it once a day

Hmm... wonder if I should rear Red Eared sliders again... had one for 8 years previously.
But must know how to take care, if not it's kinda cruel. They're also pretty agressive but can be handled and reconize their owners. Got bitten by them before, painful but they don't break the skin. -
hmm just realised. how come my red ear terrapin 15 years old already, still quite small. Width of shell is about 15cm only.

this one i had for 3 years, very tame and will even eat out of my hands.. a bit dirty though
