got one teacher in my sec sku is titled Dr., coz maybe he study phd or whatever...
then have to address him as Dr. instead of Mr.
but he no teach moi class.... -

my friends used to call them by their names and surnames. in fact, once, a friend accidently addressed a teacher as XX without adding the mister. it was funny but thank goodness the teacher pretended not to hear anything! anyway, wouldn't this depend on the teacher-student relationship? i.e if i treat this teacher as a friend, and vice versa, i don't see anything wrong with calling them by their names. in fact, my class thought of a english name for my teacher (we were out shopping with her) and irritated her by calling her by tt name the whole day.

i used to have a PE teacher named Tan Chee Beng back in my sec sch days. love him loads. seriously the best and i emphasize again, the BEST PE teacher i ever had. always address him as chee beng and he seems to be fine with it.
of course we do call him Tan Chee B** at times but its all in the name of fun. we do it when we have our "private" group discussions when he's not around that is
