Do you know there is a slim chance that the sun may die faster than its supposed to? As in supernova and then it may expand and engulf earth along with many other planets? Or perhaps even becoming a black hole itself.
Woah woah! Hold your horses before your thoughts go any further.
Let us focus back on our tiny planet we call home. How much are we contributing to global warming? What drastic changes will there be in the weather in the next 10 or more years? What other natural resources will be depleted (besides oil) in the next 50 or so years? What about our ever expanding population growth? How can we cope with world hunger issues?
We can do our part in making it a better place for future generations BUT not all will think beyond our planetary climate and what we are causing. There are those who prefer to see what is in front of us, like study, work, dates, $$$, luxury and other human-related stuffs.
Some are ignorant of such cases. Some are too scared to think of such magnitude. So for those who think of the universe and such, well... Let us keep thinking and imagining further, shall we?

Even though black holes cannot be seen directly since they do not emit light, we are able to prove their presence using astronomical observation, particularly from studying X-ray emission from X-ray binaries and active galactic nuclei.
Most of the black holes are suspected that they were produced in the deaths of massive stars, and so it is expected that those black holes to weigh about as much as a massive star.
basically the universe is about physics... so the expertise in that areas will have their way to predict the negatives & postives..
no wori.. not laughing at u.. i m too curious abt the universe.. but too much of scare will affect ur health as what one of the forumite said abt the bacterias in your body.. cos our mind will actually affect our body condition.. like cancer cells spreading etc.. -

i agree its helps to realize things bigger than our personal life cos it humbles the mind and teaches us to get closer to reality but it is a little bit only.

they are inconnected actually, go to read up more and you will see how planetary activities do affect our life.
cos i am very imaginative, i often visualize these planetary things moving here and there while at the same time observing that i am walking or watching television. such imagination brings awe and fear.
its mainly fear because it makes me realize and imagine things like what if something happen bad in universe causing the earth to die. haiz....
its scares sometimes for being so imaginative and so understadning of reality.

Only when your life span is miraculously extended to the range of hundreds of millions of years need you start worrying about the fate of Earth, our Solar System, our Milky Way.
Scientists estimated our Sun to be around "middle age" so that means it should burn for another 4-5 billion years. If we did not do any drastic thing to our planet or no alien invasion or no rock from space hitting, Earth should be around by then.
The thing which I will be worrying is what should I eat for lunch later. For someone with a greater perspective of the future than me, the next Ice Age perhaps (in 50-70 thousand years)? -

there are really ffar more worrying things than about some wayward stones hitting us, or a black hole appearing right beside us..
our earth is dying from Humans' endless plunder of its resources without giving much thought about the consequences. Thousands of Hectres of forest are cleared away to make way for human development..
A time will come when we will awaken a prehistoric Super Mutant Virus that will wipe us out off the face of these earth and monkeys will rule the world again..
Seriously, if an astroid does hit the earth.. at least you know, you won;t be the only one evaporating out into the thin air..
