  If an average-joe is under the same charges as the celebrity, he would have got at least 3 mths jail or worse the maximum penalty.

  It is criminal.
  Christopher Lee run because although inebriated he knew the seriousness of being caught for drink driving. He hoped that when he is caught later, his alcohol level would have been lowered, and so escape drink driving charge. Tough luck for him there are witnesses. Otherwise he might have got away scot free.
  Now he put on a sad look, make restitution, appeal, don't be swayed by the antics. He did what he did, and that must be viewed seriously. Every one focus on the perpetrator (he poor thing), but who think of the victims? The public, people like you and me, and people at bus stops, they are forgotten.
  I hope his appeal sees his sentence increased. to 4 years + ban from driving for life + fine. Since people are injured, there should also be rotan included.

  this is way too light already..
  
  hope he gets at least one yr sentence.
  
  so what if he's a celebrity? the more he should be a role model since he's a public figure.
