I got neighbours who are harassed by Loanshark, got beaten up even and they did make police report. What do the police do? Do the TNP come and report? Do people make a fuss about it? NOOO.
Perhaps the transport company ought to teach their drivers how to handle the situation better too for the well being of their bus drivers.

Haiz, I think all of us have to look at our assumptions and speculations, it's almost like we are holding 'trail by media', which I feel is unfair to both parties involved in the incident. Yes, the boy is from Hwa Chong, and represents the 'cream of the crop' and as such his actions are viewed as a sign of impunity and arrogance. However, his actions too are reflective of a teenager failing to keep check of his emotions and temprements. Thus, instead of punishing with impunity for every misdemeanour, we should look at the root of his actions and instead elect to help him rememdy his behavior. Punishing him with a criminal record will certainly do the trick some will argue, but then the correction will only go so far as the individual fears the reprisals of the system. Doing the right thing should not be doing the right thing out of fear, but the right thing because from the onset, it is the right thing to do.

And here is another incident where no one come forward to help immediately.
After the bus driver was punched then fell to the floor and continued to be assaulted by that 'ren zha' then finally someone decided to come forward to help. Such a sad case.
Why? Elite schools won't have 'pai kia'? Only bad schools have hooligans meh? I say punished the culprit 'kao-kao' and punish the girlfriend also

First time reading this thread......
I say just give the kid a rebuke in court, a fine and then make him do 100 hours of community work.
He doesn't deserve any expulsion. I believe he has learned his lesson. Who's perfect? Especially if one is still young and may lack proper guidance.
Some of you are just jealous that he's from HCI. -
suspension maybe too serious, how about other forms of punishments? must give young people a chance to make up their mistakes.

hmmz from what i read the bus driver was imprisoning them. from that angle it sounds reasonable for the guy to be agitated and force his way through.
but i have no idea about the law though. -
It all depends on the boy's family. In truth, if it were a MP's son, this story will never have been published.
He will likely be expelled and then charged in court, albeit not a serious charge. I doubt he will serve any jail time, but hours of community service.
It's not that a big deal. The school's board will have to evaluate whether the boy will be a serious threat to his schoolmates and people around him. It is obvious he has a short temper and the lack of restraint to act on it. Imagine if a teacher or a prefect was to come up on him for minor offence, will he be provoked and behave in a similar manner?
Even if the school board decides not to, there are parents with elite status who will influence the decision in such a way that their precious babies will not be risked in any manner, or be marred in reputation of being a friend of this perceived hooligan. -

i think so far most of the forumers comments ignore the fact that he might pose a threat to his fellow students and teachers if presented again in a similar situation.
with that, it seems an impossibility that HCI will keep him. -
