i think they will expel him first. reporting to the police will cause image problem for the "value-added" school and might drag down the ranking.
dats y im against about expelling ppl. if they expel those kids, they can't do anything for em ever. they can't punish em, they can't lecture em, and they definitely cannot teach em, "they were wrong." -

Leaving out the issue of a bus driver that I have come close to fisting, for reasons like attempting to outrage another female passenger's modesty and making false accusations...
This is really out of hand. And if he's got the guts to punch the man, why does he have to cry like a baby? Typical. Typical kids. All said and done, he's a kid. And he better wake and learn that punching others is not an effective persuasion tool. -

i think this problem will only start to get worse. from day to day experiences, ive met some very ugly sporeans.
that student must be some school bully or pai kia in his school. serves him right. now that its featured in newspaper, he nowhere to hide even the school cannot cover up the matter.
most probably hes not an elite as his father had to plead with the bus driver, obviusly the father placed great emphasis on his son not being expelled from the school.
i think highly likely the school will expel him. -

You know, that guy actually claimed that it was a "misunderstanding".
He claimed that the bus captain grab hold of the girl's hand and he shove the bus captain away. In a moment of rashness, he tore the shirt's pocket.
I guess he'll get away scott-free. The most he'll get is community service and get suspended. Nothing more than that.

The bus driver is at fault for agitating the student.
1. Confiscate others belongings.
2. Purposely close the bus door when the student wanted to leave.
IMO the bus driver should have just asked the student to pay the 80 cents and leave the matter as it is. No need to confiscate the card or stop people from leaving the bus.
On the other hand,
The student should have at least the common sense to offer to pay the 80 cents instead of talking with his fists. (maybe the student did pay the 80 cents? I don't know the full story.) -
