The maze inventor intentionally did that and thats the whole point of this story..He wans to finds out sumthing. IF u got another version of the story then explain it...
The whole plot is not biased. The maze inventor will not do something which will not produce any conclusion to his experiment.
Like i said the important point of this story is that the Signs and sybols have no meanings at all... Even If they had meanings. the uneducated man will still have got out faster using the mouse.. -

You may have a point to illustrate,
but this story is just biased from the start, not even close to how an intelligence works. Unless of course by scholar, u mean one of those ppl who only know how to learn by rote and cram for exams.... that type quite hopeless from the start lah. -

Then at least, u demonstrated the educated man ignore his surrounding.
3.) What has love for family got to do with this? U mean the educated man don't love his family?

2) The mouse is a random item which may or not appear. Dunt u get it? But its there and it will appear throughout the maze at selected times. Nut that doesnt matter becos when it appears the 2 men must be able to recognise it as the clue. The question of the experiment is who does it.
Extra point:
Even if the 2 men could have get along from the very start. the uneducated man would have told the scholar abt the mice "hey lets follow it". But the scholar would have thought its a dumb idea when there are presumely mysterious signs and symbols to show the exit.
Cant u see the maze inventor is not really testing intelligence ) else he would have made he signs to have meanings, scroll up earlier to read my post but he is testing worldly psychology
So he choose 2 different men from very different backgrounds -

THink abt it u passed a junction and marked it and when u come back to the same junction and took the other route, there will be another junction. Then they took this junction and may come back to the first and find the jinction routes are all marked, Where will they go, they will backtrack again?
The ordinary human mind is not able to "map" everything in a single look.
remember they are not playing a maze board game when u see from top u can see all the markers. they Are IN IT.
Its a whole different ball game when u are INSIDE THE MAZE

Find the "light" -
this is an experiment with many outcomes but only one result to show conclusion matching the expectations of the inventor.
Though it is possible to get out by just walking where yr legs bring u hoping to find the exit. (random guesswork )
1) both men never got out using random guess work
2)both men got out using random guess work
3) only 1 got out using random guess work
only 1 positive result to conclude the experiment compared to the above 3 negatives
1) 1 or both got out using the mouse. -

What then is your definition of a scholar? Someone as shown in the story? Then scholars must be lousy people.
What scholars should not do is to reject another person idea base on his education background. He gathers all the ideas and makes a judgement on which is the best idea to get them out. He is able to tell you the pros and cons of the various ideas and give a clear explantation on why he decides on a particular idea over another. Therefore, in this particular case, I feel that a scholar would follow the mouse first because, if he didn't, the mouse would run off. Even if the mouse is unable to lead them out of the maze, he could still go back to the puzzle to figure a way out.
Conclusion, the story sucks. -
