The lorry was reversing on a pedestrian pavement. That was what I read.. Is it true? Or did I interpret it wrongly? Why is that lorry reversing on a pavement? The newspaper stated that the lorry was going to unload some goods at a nearby shop..
And I thought that all lorries have this super loud reverse beeper?
This is a real sad story... The lorry and the boy were at the wrong place and wrong time...
Anyway, for pedestrians out there, please take care of yourself, especially the non-drivers... Dont always expect the cars drivers to see you.. sometimes it's very hard to notice ppl walking behind the car while the driver is reversing... -
I'm also residing in Simei near Eastpoint mall & on my way home yesterday, saw this crowd gathering as well as some police vehicles were at scene so I just popped over to see what was happening but only saw a pool of blood covered by some blue sheets near the lift area to the MRT...I think in future, they should not allow vehicles into that pathway for loading or unloading of goods as there are many people who needs to get to the MRT by walking on that pathway...

Imagine how devastated his mum felt, and her mum was working at the hospital.

Near the MRT there always alot of lorries parking illegally to unload stuff
Sad that a young life was taken away -
The roads have been messy lately.
Too many drivers not following the traffic law. -
i also got one classmate killed by motorcycle when the green man is flashing in primary school about 16 yrs ago.
How times flies. -

Sometimes I wonder... When pple jump down MRT tracks, why do pple feel sorry for the dead. Why does no one feel sorry for the MRT driver...? Imagine the shock the driver encountered when he suddenly see someone jump down the tracks. -

So young ... I feel sad for him , his life ended merely at Primary 3 and he did not even had the chance to be Pri5 which happens to be the best year ...

but sometimes the driver damn cb. U know the road students always take to MRT station, its a small road with no traffic light. The other time i cross the road then a blue mini van purposely sped up and act like want to hit us, got real close to hitting my friend.

Usually reversing up a pavement driver will do so very slowly. Always enough time for ppl to move out of the way.
In this case, we don't know exactly what happened.
The driver of the lorry is in deep trouble, because his vehicle was on a pavement, and he caused a death. I think he and his family would also be deeply sadden by this accident.
The deceased boy aunt would also go 'If only....' she had pulled the boy or held his hands, this would'nt happen. She would be deeply traumatised.
This is a tragedy, there is sadness all around. -

The worst are those that drive so slowly and u dunno when they will speed up. By the time they are gone, the cars behind start coming and u cannot cross again. -
