  It was 7 a few mths ago, but now it's 6 close friends..
  
  3 Singaporeans.. 1 french/chinese (but she's migrating to US this week, noooooo), 1 korean/chinese, 1 true-blue Aussie.
  
  I echo some of the sentiments here about the difficulty of retaining Singaporean friends.. many are so caught up in their selfish quest for material and social recognition and expect their non-work-related friendships to be self-sustaining and low maintenance. Anything else is a waste of time if you don't have something for them.
  
  I hate it when people only drop by when you're doing well, and run at the slightest sign of trouble.. or try to avoid you one moment, then suddenly mysteriously want to hang out with you badly when you have something they want.
  
  Pfft, I pity those kinds of people, they may have wealth or whatever, but in the end nothing can save them from their empty, love-starved lives. meow

  my frens are diminishing..
  
  some of them , we still go out, have dinner, chit- chat. but i have reached the stage where i need to brainstorm in my mind what should we talk abt.
  the talking flow is getting harder as i gets old..
  these frens, i wonder will i ever call them up if i need someone to talk to?
