ya I remember that !! I mean they can ban artist from coming becasue of long hair, why not smoking totally . . .? When will MM Lee ban smoking in Singapore ????Originally posted by BillyBong:If MM Lee wanted to BAN SMOKING in Singapore, it may well happen...along with a possible exodus of chain-smokers
Don't forget, we were the first country in the 70s to ban visitors with long hair or body tatoos...though that has somewhat liberalised now.
Imagine Kitaro being offered a hair cut prior to entry into Singapore for a performance...![]()
You cant smoke on public roads in japan, but you can smoke in macdonalds there. they even have ronald macdonalds ashtrays. So get your facts right, asshole.Originally posted by ANTI SMOKER:I used to use the stairs, now I use the lift, why? Thanks to the tough smoking law, these smokers now gather at the stair case to smoke and litter the place. The smell is horrible. Then again, it is better than the smoke in the air con building right? You win some you lose some... Anyway, there was report in last night news that Japan is the first country to stop smoking in public. The have designated area for smoking. Why can Singapore have the same thing ?
Admittedly, this is definitely gonna affect businesses for giants like Zouk, MOS and St James.Originally posted by Hellraiza:the smoking ban in clubs is really damn knnbccb. coffeeshop nevermind, can understand, as there's small children, old people, maybe pregnant women...
BUT CLUBS???? WHAT THE FLYING PHUCK IS WRONG WITH THE GOV? People go to clubs to unwind, have a smoke and a drink...this is no longer an issue about health, its about curbing MY RIGHTS AS A SMOKER! Tax the bloody cigarettes still not phucking enough for them, now want to tell me where i can and cannot smoke? PHUCK YOU!
So in the future, what happens? Smokers who want to step out for a smoke have to rejoin the queue, causing long queues everywhere and irritated patrons. So much for having a fun night out. Liberalise SG? Bar Top Dancing? You say homosexuality is alright, but smoking in a freaking club is not? This stupid law has just set us back to GOD KNOWS HOW FAR.
I'd really like to meet the fellow who came up with this idea. I'll exhale a cloud of marlboro smoke into his ELITE UNCARING FACE.
PHUCK THIS LAW. IM FREAKING PISSED OFF

I thought this is happening now.. people gather outside to smoke. I work in PSA. The strict no smoking rule drive the people there to smoke inside the small container office. Those smoke outside are fined quite heavily ...Originally posted by BillyBong:Admittedly, this is definitely gonna affect businesses for giants like Zouk, MOS and St James.
But ultimately, the benefits in the log run will affect the majority of Singaporeans, especially those who take in 2nd-hand smoke. Eventually, people will just have to party indoors and smoke outdoors.

Dude, i think the bottom-line is that it is not a matter of who can or who cannot smoke, or who smoke or who doesn't smoke.Originally posted by Deino:most of my colleagues are smokers.....personally i hate smoke.....Singapore also got designated areas wat......Bus stop cannot smoke but some people mostly old men still do dat....as........
