Death by hanging is not in any way humane, a lot of the time either the person's neck doesn't break or when their neck does break they still remain conscious although immobilised. Both result in the person to suffer for minutes before they die of strangulation. Not very humane...

for firing squad ... if not wrong ... the family of the offenders nd to pay for the bullets ... that is being used ... bullets aint not free ....
hanging is a quicker way to die ... once ur neck is being snap .. u are died be4 u know it =x -

Because when the condemned person falls through the trapdoor with added sandbags tied to his legs, the collective weight of the sandbags and his body will snap his neck. The angle in which the noose is draped over his neck, also acts to cause his broken neck to protrude against his windpipe totally blocking ability to breath.
There's an excruciating pain when the neck breaks, neck muscles and tissues tear internally, and some severance of spinal nerves. Some loss of sensation can be experienced as such, but the brain can still feel suffocation while the body is partially responsive due to possible torn spinal column.
Death in this method is brutal, and somewhat slow, because the body still twitches and squirms in pain and suffocation. Bliss only comes when the person blacks out from lack of oxigen. Brain death comes a several minutes later.
Not pretty yah? -
Personally, no matter what form of execution is used, the worst agony in a Death Sentence is the knowledge that you are going to die, and the ANTICIPATION of death.
Although, one can take comfort in knowing that if should Singapore employ the use of Lethal Injection, it would be truly painless... but it still won't take away the dreaded ANTICIPATION of death.
First injection puts you to sleep, really deep sleep.. second one causes your organs to fail one by one... the third ensures that your heart stops beating.
Once your heart stops, within five to ten minutes you are Brain Dead.
Oblivion then rules forever... -

lethal injection is a bad idea methinks ... the organs couldn't be harvested that way then ....
the condemned should all be allowed the option of donating their organs ... maybe it atones in a little way for the crimes they have committed ... maybe they can do something useful for society at the end of their parasitic existence, .... maybe they can earn some brownie points with the almighty before they have to answer for their sins ..... -
Legal means of executions:
Hanging till death, legs kicking.
Hanging, weighted to cause neck to snap.
Firing squad, execution detail with one blank round.
Firing, with machine gun burst, at chest.
Firing, hand gun fired into the back of the head.
Beheading, head chopped off in public.
Electrocution, zap with high voltage.
Lethal injection, c0cktail of knock-out drug and heart stopper. -

firing squad, to my knowledge, is used rarely nowadays..
i supposed its only used in the communist countries and military states.
but in such cases, they won't leave u hanging there, they'll just add weights to make sure it snaps

apparently, once there was a chap that lost consiousness after being shot but didn't die immediately ... as they were hauling him onto the gurney, he started moaning loudly in pain ....
the docs standing by screamed .... and so the police officers there dragged the chap back out and put a few more shots into him ... -

As to the above quote........I would consider it deserving for the inmate. He has the last few seconds to reflect how much pain and suffering he has inflicted upon his victim, who has since died, by experiencing the same. Now, he knows how his victim felt in the final moments before death....but alas, too late for him to make amends.
As for drug traffickers, he too will know, too late though......how many addicts lives have been destroyed by his selfish ways...... 
So yeah.....hanging is ok, not inhumane nor brutal. -

there was one article i read during the time where vietnamese drug trafficker was going to hang - it describes how the hangman goes about preparing the death sentence in Singapore, very chilling - they describe every detail including the thickness of rope, how long is the noose and also the weight to use, all based on a formula - to make sure the condemmed really die.
I think the death penalty is neccessary, otherwise Singapore will be crawling with drug peddlars who won't think twice to bring more harm to the victims. Although harsh but it serve as a stern warning to all to be offenders to think twice.

I agree that a vicous criminal should be deserving of a vicious punishment, BUT, the key word here is DEATH. If Death equals to Justice, it should only be DEATH brought upon the criminal swiftly. Not slowly and excruciatingly. To maintain that insufferable pain and discomfort be incorporated purposefully, society is no better than the condemned criminal. It becomes REVENGE. Not Justice.
If we are humans, we should always endeavor to remain HUMANE. As far as I am concerned, the taking away of one's life, is punishment enough. Because we all WILL eventually die as well... -

I saw a video clip of an execution of a sexual offender (he committed sodomy on a young boy or girl) somewhere in the Middle East. The execution was thought up by the village chief, and it was gruesome beyond words...
The person tied up and made to lay on the ground. Then a group of men kept him firmly on the ground on his back, lifted up his bonded legs and slowly but forcefully impale him through his anus with a 3 meter long sharp pole until it came out of his throat and out his mouth. (!)
I tell you... it was the MOST heart rending screams and plea for mercy I have EVER witnessed.... he puked as the pole perforates his stomach and haphazardly poked through internal organs as he squirms and chokes on his on blood..
This is what Justice becomes; REVENGE on the borders of Sadism and Inhumane Evil Cruelty...
The man died a painful and undignified Death, the victim is alive... -

altho my video not as gross as shutterbug. i saw a video on youtube, it was ripped out from faces of death. a guy was electrocuted on the electric chair. it was very painful for the guy. he have to go through 2 rounds of electric before his really dead.
