I saw a video clip of an execution of a sexual offender (he committed sodomy on a young boy or girl) somewhere in the Middle East. The execution was thought up by the village chief, and it was gruesome beyond words...
The person tied up and made to lay on the ground. Then a group of men kept him firmly on the ground on his back, lifted up his bonded legs and slowly but forcefully impale him through his anus with a 3 meter long sharp pole until it came out of his throat and out his mouth. (!)
I tell you... it was the MOST heart rending screams and plea for mercy I have EVER witnessed.... he puked as the pole perforates his stomach and haphazardly poked through internal organs as he squirms and chokes on his on blood..
This is what Justice becomes; REVENGE on the borders of Sadism and Inhumane Evil Cruelty...
The man died a painful and undignified Death, the victim is alive...
but my point is that by placing too much sympathies with the criminal, we're forgetting the victims of their crimes ...
our drop hanging method works pretty well if you ask me .... at least the chaps die with an intact body ... -
Whatever and anything.. as long as the death sentence can keep those potential thugs away..

So those who committed a heavy crime can just go away free from the rightful punishment? It is my belief that if I were to be the judge/government/ruler of any country. I will make sure that my citizens are safe from harm from within the country. How many will turn over a new leaf and live a better life? How can you ensure that? How can you repay the lives destroyed by his/her hands? And also, such strict laws are there to reduce the amount of people committing such crimes. If death penalty is not there, the rates of such hideous crimes to be committed will increase tremendously. And since such law is there and it so happens that someone breaks it, it's only right for us to punish them.
Those who are Chinese might have heard of this saying, sa1 ji1 xia4 hou2. Which literally meant "killing a chicken to scare a monkey." Doing this leave a imprint on those who are about to commit any related crimes. -

We coulc also argue that the death sentence do not deter people from killing.Some countries like Iceland have no capital punishment and yet homicide cases are few.

I still support firing squad instead of hanging bcos the bullet will shatter in the brain and cause instant death. It is not to the torso like in computer games but to the back of the head. The mess can easily be wiped up or they can execute in the field and dig a hole first in front of them and then bury them as they fall in dead. How clean and efficient. The govt can easily pay for the bullets bcos why they collect taxpayer's money for? Hanging is still one of the most cruel forms of execution. I would like to hear from those who are working in the execution room of our police. I heard no criminal could walk straight upon seeing the noose. Why subject them to such great fright? In the case of firing squad, it's not so fearful i think cos the gun fires from the back not front and it's fast. I still think hanging is to scare and i must admit it really scares would be criminals. You hear many movie characters say "yi qiang bi le wo" - one shot to kill me. That's all it takes-one shot! How happy! People even kill lame horses etc with one shot to the head to minimise its suffering. I also support lethal injection bcos i think doctors will be there to inject some anaethesia but i could be wrong.

i read somewhere that if the criminal doesn't die after the 1st execution attempt, he is set free?
i suppose the guillotine is the only sure-fire (sorry for the pun) way of execution... in all other methods, there is a probabilty of failure
have not heard of anyone walking around w/o his or her head...
but then again, some religion or race (especially older chinese) frown on not having a "complete body" after u die - "si wu quan shi" -
