you'd be surprised but actually its easier to save up when ur a teenager if u dun splurge as compared to a thrifty working adult. reason being that although the working adult earns relatively more, the bills area also relatively bigger. utilities, food, transport all these add up to a significant portion of the salary spent
as for 10k as a 22year old.. thats not enough data! financially stable means that the person can maintain or increase his savings in a worst case scenario ( economy slowdown etc ). While 10k can buy alot of things, remember that money once spent is gone, unless u spend it by investing. so financial stability doesnt really factor in your actual savings, but rather other more important aspects such as a house ( preferably paid up full ), high educational qualifications which will allow you to find a job easily. and savings only if its a sizable sum running up to 6 digits or more. its more important to be able to generate wealth than simply having non-renewable wealth
