How would u discipline ur kids when u become parent?

i grew up with the cane i think the best way to let a kid be discipline is to be left alone with a timetable.
provided you are not that super poor family type, that type if you don't discipline your kid.. will be very cham...

after a certain age dun start to wack....juz advice....if they dun they ground them...you can never teach someone, rather you help it find it within himself...that is if they're teens

I have 2 kids in the threshold of being teens. I have never used the cane, nor have I ever use my hands to hit them.
Whenever they do wrong, I gave them a lecture on the pros vs cons of what they have done and let them know the consquences of their actions, citing examples of similar actions and its' consequences that were publised in the local papers/news.
I than asked of their opinion, what they felt about their actions and whether they find it is ok or wrong about it and why. We have a discussion to iron out the problem and misunderstanding.
I can say my kids have learnt to understand that bad actions do not bear fruit for them in their future. -
