Help, whats next?

Hi, i need some insights here...
I've received a fine from an officer quite sometime ago, and received a letter which says i have to pay my fine, tried paying through the axs machine but at the time it was not avaliable. Soon, i left for australia for my student exchange program.
I arrived a few weeks ago and today i received a letter from the police, saying i am liable for arrest. I have to head down to the police cantoment building with my IC.
Can i know, what is next? Can i call up NEA and get them to allow me pay the fine???? thanks.. -

Call them up and see your options while explaining your plight.
Though you should jolly well paid your fines before you left Sg... -
if the purpose of the police to get u down is to settle the fine then pay the fine lor....get rid of the reasons for them to arrest u...with the fine paid the arrest is consider invaild already....right??
and is the police letter a register mail?...if not u can always disregard the letter and said u nvr receive them....and u paid ya fine things would be alrite...

Ya i am first time offender... It is not registered letter... So i can go down NEA to pay the fine? is there date due for paying the fine/? I think my due is over thats y they send me letter..

erm i worked in a certain police related dept before..
so what i am trying to say is..the police will DEFINITELY take into account ur failure to pay up in time and also leaving australia without doing what u haf to do. u may seem to haf some kind of trouble here..becos the 2nd letter sent to u is 1 tt states tt u r liable for arrest and not a 2nd reminder for u to pay up.
the police may deem u as avoiding to pay up. in this case, the problem will not be solved even if u pay. -

Now what i am worried is, i might get into trouble with the law. Dont mind the fine, but my school schedule is quite packed, and afraid might leave blackmark. -

alright now..why do u wait until u receive the 2nd letter. u shld haf did something when u came back to sg

Bring your passport and show them that you were overseas... nothing one lah.... you pay more than the original fine nia...

They got the court to issue a warrant of arrest. This is standard procedure. If you can show them good reason like you were overseas... then they just squash the warrant and let you pay the fine.Originally posted by Peruci1984:I am willing to pay the fine... so why they want to arrest me????? -

it doesn't matter whether u r willing to pay anot
the thing is..when they sent u the letter to pay, u didn't and instead left for aust without doing so and when u come back u still didn't do anything so when there is no record of it for a certain time, they sent u arrest letter.
its juz like u r avoiding to pay up and think the police will forget abt this incident.
