is cycling on pedestrian path illegal?

  As a pedestrain,i have already developed an habitual action everytime walking along pedestrain pathway,that is,for every few steps i walked,turn my head around to look for bicycle coming from behind.Even sometimes i visit AMK where i hardly see any bicycles around,i still do the same!
  Sad.
