dark guys like to look fairer.......fair guys like to look tan.....for me tan like kimutaku also ok as long as not too dark like kena sunburn liddat....

You can't really take those models and actresses in the commercials as benchmarks for fair skin, as they are tremendously unrealistic representations achieved through lighting, video editing and other image enhancement techniques.
Actual fair skin is quite different. In fact I like girls with fair skin. However I do agree that sometimes they look a little sickly, but frequent exercise and good health should give them a healthy glow.

Well the natural asian skin tone is fine but sometimes when I happen to walk by one of those beauty salons and peer inside, I see a lot of women who are artificially white. The thing is Asians have rather delicate features and simply won't look good with dark skin IMO. It's a different thing with Caucasions with sharp features. I find it amusing that some Asians would follow Western fads and go have their skin tanned.
