True or not? Accountants can earn more than bankers and top executives of MNCs?
Just compare the rankings of professions currently paying top annual remunerations in Singapore. Lawyers ($4.29 million), accountants ($3.72 million), bankers ($3.33 million), top executives of multinational corporations ($2.7 million) and local manufacturers ($2.3 million) are way ahead of the 'poor' engineer ($620,000). Is it surprising that general engineering degree holders earn less than a fraction?

Don't kid me leh. I thought accountants are just rank and file workers that's all (albeit paid higher than your normal office worker). Do they even get commissions? -

I was used to be an engineer after graduating from a local university but later switch on to auditing and working as an auditor after getting my CPA qualifications. if you want to know how to switch from engineering to audit/accountancy, you can PM me. -

Firstly, accountancy degree or ACCA can be done on a part-time basis. By far, the graduate Law course offered by NUS faculty of Law is highly regarded. It is a 3 year full time graduate course for graduates who wants to pursue a profession in Law. So far I know, I know of someone graduated from chemical engineering who directly went into this law course and subsequently upon graduation, work in a law firm. For him, he did not work upon his engineering graduation. He is able to afford to study for another 3 years. Tell me how many people would be able to afford not working and pursue another professional course for another 3 years? -

Accounting work is very stress,you have to handle tons of paperworks,taxes etc and when the auditors came in,you have to answers all their questions which can be stressful and not forgetting rushing the deadline for year end.Group accountants is even worst i have a friend being a group accountant stay in his company for the whole week when rushing though the year end it machiam like no life even rush though his meals very ke lian.

hanor, I'm so busy I work my ass off. How often do you see me post replies now? I think this is like the 2nd time this past week. Engineers are always on the bottom of the scale,except for some lar.

Most accountants are bankers? Anyway play shares can also earn alot of money, accounts people are trained to play shares as well.

Stress is not an excuse. Most professions have their crunch time.
