I take jokes pretty well and i even make good jokes.
But this won't happen when we're talking about issue/topic that clashes with my belief system.
And past experiences made me a strong person who stand firm in his values and belief,defending it,making me impervious to emotions and emphathy.
And i see i use all this to a good cause. -
One must be able to overcome the problems if the relationship turns sour which lead to breakup.
This is where confusion will come in and one may think anyhow which is quite dangerous. -

you don't have to get it, and trust me, you don't need a boyfriend for those reasons either, just to prove that you "get it". -
