ok, which place has the best learning experience? like approchable teachers, provides good materials, good teaching, etc.
do u want to learn conversational thai or reading n writing?
i suggest starting with conversational first, u can't read/write unless you know how to speak.
for starters, if u are willing to wait (and save money), you can sign up at your nearby CC. they will wait till the class becomes big enough before they start the lessons. the rates are usually 2 digits.
or you can join a language school. an ex colleague joined and his spoken thai was really good, i've signed up for it too. its cambridge language school. the price is steep compared to CCs but classes start ASAP, u don't spend months waiting.
good teaching, well... the current teacher i have is good. BUT the students must do their part too. we learnt alot more than what we're supposed to because one guy kept asking questions.
now that i'm in the intermediate class, apparently we learnt too much. the students from the other classes don't really understand what is happening. words that were used in my basic class were not used in theirs.
it isn't because of 'no standardisation'. the teacher did say that after all the words she gave us in basic, we're already halfway thru intermediate.
so like i said, its not only the teacher. its also the students. keep quiet, don't ask, don't learn anything.
the teacher is friendly enough for you to ask loads of questions, but time is a real constraint.
