Well I do understand what you're trying to get across but I feel that we're arguing over different points. You're trying to say that maybe I would try the fish if I had the chance to with the dish right in front of me.
What I'm saying is that people who intentionally place themselves in that position with the intention to have the fish from the moment they order it on the menu are wrong in the way that they most likely made that decision from the moment they found out about the dish.
Say if they were to be blindfolded and left until they were very hungry then placed in a restaurant with the fish in front of them and the cost of it taken out of their wallets and they then proceeded to eat it, THEN I wouldn't 'proclaim moral superiority over them'.
But I think it's wrong to cook a fish in that way or any other creature for that matter but those who eat it obviously don't and they make up their mind that they don't have a problem with torturing fish by condoning it by finding out about the dish and then going to a restaurant which serves it with the intention of ordering and eating it then doing so.
no! and honestly, im getting extremely tired of this argument.
so, go and read up on why people behave the way they do, and the prison experiment i stated earlier. if u did, then u would really understand WHY i said wat i said.
only by putting the both types (those who mind and those who dun) through the SAME thing then can one see the difference. therefore, say if he is better or worse than the other party. which is again, another subjective issue.
u resist, because u r raised to think its wrong and/or past experience says so. there are others in other countries that pretty much eat anything dead or alive, or half dead. are they all psychotic, or are they just raised differently?
there is no such thing as buy already + hungry = must eat. if one is strong he/she would leave and not "sin". come on, u mean the whole country only has 1 restaurant?!
and i did not mention any kidnapping scenarios, thank you very much.
and while we are talking abt eating a half dead fish, would u eat, or have u eaten before, a cockroach, rat, dog, cat, turtle, snake, rabbit, horse, deer, snail, shark (not just the fin) and all that?
my point: any human being is capable of anything, including great cruelty to animals, and to fellow human beings. by saying that u wont do it, and that its wrong without having resisted it before means absolutely nothing.
