saw one guy eating satay wrongly...

the other night i was dining out at a hawker centre. the table next to me ordered satay. when it came, i saw one guy take the bowls of satay gravy n pour all over the sticks of satay, cucumber, onions n ketupat.
then his friends saw it n stopped him (he already poured one bowl liao) n scolded him like 'WTF r u doing!!?? where got people eat satay like this one?!!?'
then he said sorry n i think his friends quite pissed at him already, coz one of them suggested poking his balls with satay stick.
i think he first time eat satay. coz normally people will dip their satay into the gravy n eat it, n den use the stick to poke the cucumber/onion/ketupat n dip into the gravy. Right?
or maybe he got a new way to eat satay? more convenient that way? as in no need to keep dipping the stick of satay. -

I think is either he always eat satay like that in the family and no one bother to teach him the proper way , or he really first time eat satay .

nothing wrong ba, i think like that the satay is sort of "soaked" in the sauce, might be even better than the normal way of "dipping".
Most ppl eat prata also use the dipping way, when i eat prata, i also pour the curry on the prata and spread it evenly, once i fren said to me "You think put peanut butter on bread ah??" -
you make me feel like eating satay now... =(

the conventional way might be dipping the satay into the sauce.. but his way might be a short cut way.
its like eating prata.. u pour the curry over the prata or dip the prata into the curry? -

Seriously, his friend should not make that remark, its well, unkind and everyone have the right to do whatever they wish to.
This kind of thing, haha, there is no right or wrong, just that like it or not or conventional or not.
I pity the guy man, kena scolded for pouring sauce on to his satay.

i am for eating satay differently, why be so boring to eat it a conventional way. anyway there isn't a school teaching everyone how to eat satay is there?

There isn't any "proper" ways...it is just different for one and other.

If that is the case, it is rude to mix everything together.
Not mixing everything together gives you the flexibility. Like for prata, maybe this mouthful you want to eat prata with the sugar given, the next mouthful you want to eat with the provided curry.
Also for prata, it might not be good for it to be in the curry for too long. Maybe it will turn soft and lose its crispness? -
welll... I feel tat person eat satay by pouring the gravy onto plate is more hygenic...

But one thing is for sure, the table will be cleaner.
Maybe I no skill, the sauce keep dripping all over the place.
