Hey guys,
If there is a Singaporean opened small "hotel", nicely done up with the basics. Clean and cosy @ only about 600baht a night (roughly SGD 30) per room, would anyone be interested?
- 5 minutes from BTS station, only 20 minutes ride into town.
- Surrounded with cheap and good stuffs like 100b/hour Authentic Thai massage.
- Near clubbing spots like Ekkamai/Thong Lor.
- Quite near to Airport.
- Near Carrefour / Lotus. Less than 5 minutes walk.
Would the price attract you, but the only bad thing is the travelling to and fro the city as it is a further 15minutes away from Asok BTS/Sukhumvit MRTA. -

No, am thinking about starting one. Because alot of friends asked me to help them hunt for cheap and clean hotels, but all not so cheap and not so clean.

I'm sure most of us don't spend alot of time in hotels, thus no need to spend so much money on it. Best thing is that if you want, we can arrange for you to squeeze in 4 people at minimal additional charge, unlike hotels! -

Hotel location is one of most important factor. Since we are only in our hotels for the night, most of the time is spent somewhere and if travelling from a far-off hotel to that place, it can be quite tiring.
Basically, simple clean room + good location is what I would look for. A nice clean bed, clean toliet and just a working TV + small fridge will do. No need anything fancy.
Many of those budget hotels I've been too either have beds that are too old or rooms that are in need of a paint job. Doesn't give you a good feeling and it doesn't take too much effort to make such changes.
Anyway, if you do setup do tell me. I'll go down stay stay look look. -

Most hotels are from 1000baht upwards. Asia Hotel should be in the 1200b range, which is effectively double the rate that I am considering.
For party goers, it is in a rather interesting area where few tourist roam at night. I won't mind introducing a couple or place or two where the happening crowd is hanging out at.
But this is more for those staying in Bangkok for sometime or those experts of Bangkok haha. Those on a tight schedule and on a shopping trip should stay in the Pratunam and Siam area. All the shopping spots are mere minutes away. -

When you say 15 mins from Asok BTS, do you mean walking distance?

I mean 15mins train ride from Asok BTS. For those in the know, it's at Onnut. Pretty great area with most things like Stylish/jap trained hairdressers at 150b - 200b for a haircut with wash. 100b/hour thai massage, 250b/hour oil massage. Great food at prices starting from 20b. Beer gardens. Local pubs and clubs.
Hehe, stay in Bangkok for sometime and you will actually avoid the tourist traps. All the fun for half the price! -

But aiyo still not confirm, need to find out whether people would mind the travel distance. -
Never really venture too far out of tourist trap before so could you give me a rough estimation of travelling time by cab to the "tourist traps"

I guess you really have to appeal to the seasoned bangkok go-ers. Normally first timers usually choose a hotel more centralized.
I remember another forumner actually ran a hotel or tour agency in Vietnam as well if I am not wrong. -

I usually stay in Asok coz I go there for Biz
But for holiday Onnut works -
Actually even for 1st time travellers Bangkok is a super easy place to navigate with it's transport network

If with family, I will stay in hotels around Bt 1200 and if alone, stay in hotels Bt 600 to 900
