Well i think the person who complain about this incident is being very unfair.
He go up to the officer and fail to communicate properly !!! I mean put yourself in the custom officer shoe, suddenly someone walk up to you and pass you the passports - of course she think that this idiot want to cut queue. He should have taken more time to explain to the car in front to ask the owner to let him go first + the officer ... !!! I am sure everyone will let him first.
The person - say the officer process 2 cars more before his car !!! Dumbass !! he should just run to the 2 car that is waiting to process and just tell them - my dad got heart attack in car behind you, need go hospital - pls let us go 1st !!! then they will let he go first to the officer, that time the officer sure to process him first.
There is so many officer there in different counter, or the main office, he just ask once, and dumb dumb wait in line !!! he should have ask others for help also.
I do not think we should believe what that person is saying !!!Not a single officer came forward to help at first. Subsequently, an officer who noticed my father gasping for breath called for an ambulance.
Yep suddenly he say no one around then suddenly he say an officer notice his father - think he is too shock to know who is around or not... if officer not around then how he notice the father gasping for breath. Think his brain that time is screwed , to him everything is in slow motion !!!
I think the person panic till he does not think, and expect everyone to read his mind , which is unfair.
Also his commentsshouldn't a paramedic team be stationed there in the event of an emergency?
How many case like that !!! happen at the causeway ? I think not enough, think other place have more need of paramedic than there in Singapore !!! The guy is just too self center to refuse to acknowledge that he himself have make a lot of stupid move that which non other is responsble. -

Well, I m first aid trained. But to be frank, if I do see stranger collaspe, I will hestitate to help. Probably, rooted to the ground due to fear and lack of confidence... CPR break bones one leh, then somemore it only have a small percentage to recover, then somemore somemore the longer u delay, the more damage the victim have... -

CPR will break bones only if executed improperly by untrained personnel.
Probably, rooted to the ground due to fear and lack of confidence... CPR break bones one leh, then somemore it only have a small percentage to recover, then somemore somemore the longer u delay, the more damage the victim have... -

You will not be blamed for the death if you have a valid certificate or that can show you have went through the course before.
But like always, make sure the other party is doing wrongly then approach, or else might end up the one doing wrongly... -

What you expect at custom side officer automatic walk up and check everyone face to see if they are all ok !! They sometime do random check. If in the situation , it is that fella to call for help !!! not expect everyone to auto see what is going on !!! There is something call honk on the car !!! I am sure if you at the custom stop, you honk non stop - all custom officers will be running to see who the idiot !!!

lol.. performing cpr on dummy is not the same as performing cpr on real body...
Performing CPR is a course but not a profession to most of us...
Of coz, performing CPR on a victim with no breath and no pulse is better than leaving tat victim dying on the floor. Every second counts... But, if u decide to get involve, his life is an add on responsibility to yr shoulder...
Well, for me to get involve, really need to have the REASONS to overcome my fear barrier... It really depends if my heart is touched to do it or not...

in addition, no SCDF ambulance/updates were available after they were cleared. u'd think that SCDF would respond faster than that. the customs officer need to call for an ambulance for one to arrive.

I dont think front-line officers manning checkpoints are supposed to be trained in CPR. They are there to check illegal immigrants which is their priority. ON JUNE 29, my family and I were on our way to Johor Baru. At about 11.30pm, just after clearing the Malaysian checkpoint at the Causeway, my father had chest pains and breathing difficulty. We had to cancel our trip and return to Singapore. I immediately made a U-turn.
At about 12.10am, when we arrived at Woodlands checkpoint, I called 995. A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) operator assured me an ambulance would be dispatched as soon as possible and I would be kept informed of its arrival.
I proceeded to booth 15. As there were two cars ahead of us, to save precious time, I pulled up and, leaving the engine running, I ran to the booth, hoping to jump the queue and get our passports endorsed quickly so we could secure medical help for my father.
Seeing the immigration officer engaged, I tapped on the glass panel in desperation. Without allowing me to explain, she slammed the glass door in my face and pushed aside our passports I had placed on her counter to continue serving the two cars before us.
The whole episode took a good 10 minutes and by the time I went back to drive my car to the booth, my father's condition had taken a turn for the worse.
Finally, after our passports had been endorsed, I drove to the red lane for Customs clearance to seek assistance from Customs officers. Another rude shock awaited me there.

I was appalled by the way the officers conducted themselves.
Also, the assurance by the SCDF operator that an ambulance would be rushed to the scene and I would be kept informed of its whereabouts was false. Isn't 995 meant for emergency only and shouldn't cases involving a dying man be attended to as quickly as possible?
When I sought assistance at the red lane, none of the officers could perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Aren't front-line officers manning checkpoints supposed to be trained in CPR? Alternatively, shouldn't a paramedic team be stationed there in the event of an emergency?
If only help had been at hand, it might have saved my father's life.

the best is both woodlands and JB checkpoint station hv 1 medical officer each. whichever side standby for ermergency situation.

not realistic lah. people can then argue wat if 1 team is evacuating a casualty, then theres no more standby team?
so, must have 2 or more teams stationed there waiting for something unlikely to happen, with more on standby in watever hospital they are from.

best is for the customs and immigration officers know how to execute a proper CPR and first aid, and equipped with an AED or two. -

IMO, he should had sent his father to the nearest hospital.
U-turning and going through the check point is a big mistake as god knows how long it would take!
Thus, he decided to let his father die and now try to push the blame to others...
In any borders' officers who met with people like him would slam their door at them as there are safety measure to be kept. Who knows that he might be psycho.
Even if the officer did endorse for him, he still need to wait for the 2 cars to leave first before he can exit. Thus, he is only prolonging time and not helping at all. -
damn.. If i were incharge of the immigration, i will fire the moron who slammed the door at the fella when he is asking for help not to forget i will freeze her CPF account too and make her have no access to 995 for next 50 yrs.
