Going to Shenzen For Holiday, Very Scared..

  Will be going to Hongkong/Shenzhen for a holiday with my mum and her colleagues. Not my 1st time to Hongkong, but 1st time to shenzhen. Very uneasy cos I know the people there eat dogs. My mum last time went saw dogs hung there like roast duck. I know if I see I will cry and be sad for the whole trip, thus affecting everyone. But how to avoid? If with my own frns of cos easy, just avoid certain areas. But now with other people, cannot follow my own wishes. Anyone been there? Know which areas I should avoid?

  Just stick to the shopping areas in Luo Hu or Old Street (Lao Jie) and you'll be fine.

  but will tour guide bring us to those dog eating areas? are they everywhere?

  you fuking noob, ShenZhen is a place with very high crime rate, you should be worried about getting stabbed, but instead you worry about people eating dog??? what the hell is your problem?? anyways Shen Zhen is not even close to being famous for dog eating, in fact I've never heard any such thing about Shen Zhen, who cares?

  Not sure but I've not heard of any incidents where a tour guide will bring tourists to such areas. Check with the tour guide beforehand.

  thats good to hear..i am just a young lady who loves dogs very much and own a dog myself and plan to open a dog shelter in the future, so it would be very disturbing 4 me

  snobbish becareful in shenzhen ok. coz my dad says china ppl(illegal ones) go to the quiet areas in shen zhen and rob ppl there. so better dun travel in quiet paths in the nite. as for the dog thing.. i'm nt sure if it's rampant over there. but i guess if u see a stall, it's better to look away?

  Just stay vigilant and stick with your Mom. Crime would be more worrying. Have fun shopping!
