yeah when comparing Income per GDP it is necessary to also peek at cost of living especially food. US is a arigculture states. It doesn't depend import for all basic food. difference in living standard cost also... like in malaysia, one pack cig less than 5 SGD, 2SGD can get you a decent meal and a drink.
What about in SGD? the price double...

hmm.. maybe those are the places pple retire at? Where they dun have to work and juz spend their 401k?
or maybe its like those countryside where pple hunt their own food, pick their own fruits, got their own farm, solar powered house/windmills etc.. See it quite often on TV.
