Hmm, i feel that sometimes, employees stick to these norms, because of peer pressure?
In my case, if everybody is still staying, especially when your boss is still in, its psychologically hard to move, especially when the early departure will affect the Job performance appraisal; not that you are penalized for leaving on the dot, but you screw yourself for leaving early because those staying late, will get a higher score rating than you.
Life sucks yeah?
Is your life a compass directed by those around u or do u take charge?
Yes,it will affect job appraisal because people are shallow and will look into redundant issues to put u on a score gague.
I worked in a office before during the hols and tell u,i leave on the dot or at most 30mins later.
I do a proper work and i leave.
The day i sign on that line,i only follow my part of the contract and the company rules.
If u are strong,no peer pressure or politics shld work on u because senseless games like these are for the petty players.
