Anw , saw the hermit crabs on TV today . Looks very cute , small house , small head , but has big claws and legs . Price ranges from $15-25 . Currently , shop stocks are low , however news has it that the next week will have new stock. People who are patient enough can wait for the new batch to arrive . As for those who arent , there are some crabs still on sale .
I also intend to have one !
Im way too bored at home with computer games etc. I wanna have a new hobby. I intend to place the tank on my study table so that once i see it , i will rmbr to feed it . The tank will be a large one , i dont want the creature to feel confined in a godly tight space. As for feeding and suitable enviroment for it , i will ask the shop keeper. I have 3 medium sized stones and 2 boxes of pebbles , one is coloured tiny pebbles, another is medium sized white pebbles. Originally used when i was a kid as a "toy" tool , now i can use it for a good purpose. 
Hope when i purchase the crabs, i can have an offer of 3 crabs for a special price , as i know that hermit crabs live in colonies . Pardon me for saying they are independent creatures in my prev post.

U mean the things inside your coral tank all taken out? Orh you mean from rectangle tank become glass panels only?
Anyway , certain hermit crabs can live for a very time . Some species can live abt 35+ years. I wonder is , their 35 years = 5-7 human years , or is it 35 human years?
But i doubt the crabs being sold can live dat long in SG conditions and weather & humidity. But still , its YOUR responsibility to take care of the crab well . -

i used to keep hermit crabs too but is saltwater one lol Since the crabs are imported from Indonesia , according to the news report , i believe the waters from the beaches are ideal.
Oh yes , you must find out whether the crabs are terrestrial or not . If they are , they will often live on land more than in water. If they aren't , they will live in water for most of their lives.
Hmm i wonder when the new batches arrives , the crabs are in their "teenage hood" Cuz when growing , they often will change shells . However , if there are shortages of shells , they will fight among each other for it . Really will be a spectacle if they are fighting .
