  I have been on it since a few years back, since I was in Uni...tink it was very widespread among the colleges in US first, only then it slowly spread to Asia recently...

  In the US face books are like all the rage for colleges. as a sidenote, apparently in US friendster is mainly a small kid kind of thing.
