  Don't see why people have to flame him just because he is young and wants a debit card.
  
  I got my debit card when i was 17 and honestly, it was one of the best things in life for me. Having a debit card opened up a whole world of options for me.
  
  Mind you, I'm not referring to material options (though i wouldn't deny to splurging on restaurants and designer labels), but rather, options in the business world. There are simply so much that you cannot do without a debit/credit card. Buying and selling things online, importing goods from overseas, opening account in supplies and trade sites and etc. Not only did i not empty my bank, but multiplied it thanks to my debit card.
  
  To put it simply, debit card is an ambivalent tool. Whether it is used for beneficial purposes, is not for me or you to judge.
