Now the trend is not to go JC, go poly??

I heard from ppl around me and younger friends, most of them are choosing to go poly instead of JC.
dun realli understand, why they dun want to go uni. tried to persuade but to no avail. -

I dont know why you think like that, if go poly then cannot go JC?
What you've studied in JC is totally different from poly. Some people want to study things they have interest in and they know what they want so they go poly instead, whats wrong with that?

Well, I guess they are interested in the courses so they choose to go to the poly route. What's more, poly has offered a variety of courses from cybergaming to bakery which is something different from what was offered in the past 5 yrs.
Even if you're in poly, if you have acceptable grades and good interview skills, you may still get into the local uni. -

For design courses, if you have nice portfolio, they may accept you even though you're not a 3.5 pointers. -
to each his own preference. and oso, u shud look at where the supply of poly students are from. i wud say most students from the top sec schools ll still choose to go jc.

JC: Can go uni easily. But once ur grades are not good enough, u are stuck and can't go anywhere.
Poly: Must have GPA of at least 3.5 to enter Uni. But with a diploma cert, u can go to the workforce easily with high pay.
Even now single graders go to poly because there's more lab work. Unlike JC whereby they only study by the book. -
