Talking about this, you remind me of my FYP facilitator. He's from Australia, and the first thing he asks is always: "Are you speaking English?". We have no problems with email or IM communications, but when face-to-face, the problems arise.

It's only a matter of wanting to speak English or Singlish.
Come to think about it, most Singaporeans can switch smoothly between proper English and Singlish. -
