The above advice is not a good advice.Originally posted by Rigante:TS - there is no need for you to go to CASE.
Simply call up your credit card company and ask for a dispute form - on the form state that the vendor charged you a sum before you signed any approval and forced you to sign after that, and this was against your will.
Simple - they will protect their own customer.
If you did not want to sign the contract then you should never do it.Originally posted by EdmundHeng80:I did not want to sign the contract. If he DID NOT SAY THAT 'I have already credited the bill to your card" i would just walk away.
But he already did the billing without my permission, what can I do? I was so confused and tired. After getting harassed more than 1 hour by 3 instructors. Plus the manager. I didnt know what to do.
I have been a member there for more than a year alreaedy. I was exercising alone when 1 instructor just came to me and said wanted to show me proper technique. I wanted to be left alone but he seemed sincere in helping me, and he talk non stop anyway. After showing me abs n biceps, he got another guy to come over...then 2 instructors talking non stop etc etc. Keep saying must test my body on a machine to see how fat/muscular I am. So i wanted to do it to keep their mouth shut. I didnt expect it to continue for so long.Originally posted by Terribear:TS wouldn't have been in this nonsense, if he wasn't greedy for the 1st *free trial* of 2 weeks access to the gym.
The minute TS went to the gym, it was like a welcome invitation to corner him and do some hardselling straight up. They have realised that such tactics work, thats why after so many years, they are still giving out *free 2 weeks passes*.
I think in this case, its TS own weakness. Of course California Fitness is guilty of Hard-selling, but given the way TS described it, he would have fallen prey to any other Hard-selling companies out there, due to his inability to enforce a *NO* response.
I was a victim of Hard-selling tactic by California fitness too, in early 2007. It reached the stage whereby my Credit card was swiped, and the slip was placed in front of my, just awaiting my signature.
I refused to sign it, throwing up some excuse that I needed the money and forced them to tear up the slips in front of me before leaving the place. Obviously they had very black faces, but hey, I saved a thousand bucks.

I called CASE up, got appointment with them tmr. Sigh. Must wait till tmr....
You going to trust a blur blur guy words on what happen there ? If he has a logical or ok mind - he would not have got into this situation. So his story here may be 1/2 the story only.Originally posted by Stoat:From the way TS described the situation, i think the staff there were using their 'muscular bodies' to block his way and corner him which might amount to criminal intimidation.
Signing something under duress/criminal intimidation is not valid. Lodge a police report asap and give those buggers hell.
Give the TS a break; don't be quick making judgement of a person's intelligence basing on this single incident. He is here only to ask for advise. I supposed you must be a street-wise and strong minded person and will not succumb to such hard-sell tactics but I guess the TS is not like you in this matter. I am sure he has learnt his lesson and will not fall for such sale tactic in the future. I am sure this tactic has worked for these trainers for them to keep on using it.Originally posted by storywolf:You going to trust a blur blur guy words on what happen there ? How dumb or ego guy he is - when he does not have the money, still let people proceed with the sale - just because the guy already credit it .... did he object - from the whole event he never say a no ...... !!! Suddenly go back home than he change his mind....
