TODAY news: Mr Tibbets( pilot who carried out the world's first atomic attack above Hiroshima) died on Thursday aged 92, insisted almost to his dying day that he had no regrets about the mission and slept just fine at night.
... He did not apologised, arguing... that the bombing millions of American and Japanese lives by ending the war...
why should Mr Tibbets apologise? if the Japanese never had the huge ambition to 'swallow' america that led to the bombing of pearl habour, would the america do this to them? the rest of the world would have become Japan now!
... "but i wanted him to visit Hiroshima and take a direct look at what he did as a human being" said Mr Tohei, who co-chairs the Japan Confederation of A- and H- Bomb Sufferers Organisations, who now lives in Tokyo.
Is he sure only the Japanese suffers from the war? who started the war in the first place? why doesnt he visit the countries his beloved country has done damage??
they wanted others to realise their mistakes and impact done to Japan. But they themselves failed to see their own actions. So ironic!
its not that i hate Japan or what. but it is a fact they never fail to admit the war is never their fault.

yeah, i agree wat u say.Originally posted by unclebutcher:798, ever heard of sacrificing the few for the good of many? if Tibbets had not done it, many MORE innocent lives would have been lost.

n let's not forget dat wars bring pain n suffering to many.
to date, i think americans r not much different from being terrorists. they cant find prove dat Iraq has nuclear bombs, n attack them for stating it is for the sake of peace.... it's more like the americans r eyeing for oil in iraq.
"I knew when I got the assignment it was going to be an emotional thing," Tibbets told The Columbus Dispatch for a story published on the 60th anniversary of the bombing. "We had feelings, but we had to put them in the background. We knew it was going to kill people right and left. But my one driving interest was to do the best job I could so that we could end the killing as quickly as possible."

I thought they did... or didn't they.Originally posted by lpx88:Actually in some ways it is justified for the dropping of the a-bombs
The Japanese soldiers were way too patriotic in their last few battles alrdy. Even more lives would have been lost if the war drags on. Japan wasn about to give way and surrender.
But on the other hand, the USA should have dropped the bomb on perhaps an empty island with no civilization or an isolated are, maybe to see if they can intimidate Japan.
The 2 cities the bombs landed in has at least 70k casualties eachOriginally posted by wonderamazement:I thought they did... or didn't they.
the rest of the worl may forgive the Japs, but the Japs will not forgive what they thought the others had done wrong to them, and they will never forget their mission of conquering the world. After the war, they try so hard in many ways to win the world over. This way, they need not use force to conquer the world.Originally posted by snop_coolz:forgive and forget...no point crying over spilled milk..even if they apologise..even if the pilot regret..no dead soldier is gonna come alive...
I start this thread cos i felt anger with the Japs, not to the pilot, it is the Japs who died without feeling regrets, not the other way round.Originally posted by hiphop2009:and this thread sound like the pilot "si bu hui gai" (die also wont change)
so if one day our government put us in a dire situation n offend our neighbours, do we deserve to die just becos 66.6% support our government?Originally posted by Ashearo:He did the right thing. No such thing as innocent Japanese because they elected their government who went to war and they supported it. They should stop crying bout it. Next time dont start a damn war then whine bout it 50 years later.
