How do you find Cosplayers in S'pore and Japan?

How do you find cosplayers in S'pore and Japan..?
What do they need to improve? Do they lack of anything.. ?
Suggest some tips, ideas if possible.. -
i think they need to take more time to make the costume and not buy ready made ones. of course ready made ones are ok as well.
of course for me i like self made. shows how much dedication you have.
myself i wanna cosplay but i dun tink i have the body for it.

Cosplay another character la.. if the character is a small built. it really doesnt matter if u dress up as that character. Also. if your hair not long enough. can buy wigs mah..
Dont care if ppl laugh at u too. becoz many of them dont dare to cosplay.. -
the way i see it, if you have the passion and dedication, by all means make your own costumes.
but i think there's nothing wrong in buying ready-made ones just to join in the fun.
after all, we all just want to have fun la, lets not ostracize anyone. be inclusive!

I believe most of the costumes are purchased...
Very few only would make their own costume.. yup..
Sewing ur own costumes is also not cheap either. all the materials cost a lot.. -
life is short man...
If cosplay can add more colours to your life, than do it!!

singaporeans (and other nationalities for that matter) just don't have as much respect and dedication to what they do as japanese.
they can't be bothered to piece a costume together themselves, and if they do, it's mediocre and uninspired.
of course, nothing is worse than fat americans.

there is more than having a good costume as well, you should do your makeup properly, be of the same body size as your character, and speak and act like your character. the reason that the maid cafe in singapore is not doing very well is because the "maids" just don't play their parts. -

Cosplay is about having fun and feeling the spirit of it.......
It doesn't matter if you're too fat or too skinny to be wot you want to be......
Its about feeling the character you're cosplaying as.........
Cosplay is worth nothing if you are present just to show off that you can make a state of the art gundam suit..........
I seriously would love to try and cosplay.......
The difference with people who think negative about people who cosplay and cosplayers is that cosplayers are actually more confident and tend to be more social then them........... -
