we sit in front of comp, read the title liao, of coz can say "aiyah u mean u cant tell?" but when it happen to us i tink alot also will kena bluff one la.. -
That might be the case, but if you really wanted to use a taxi to get to the hospital as quickly as possible, wouldn't you flag one down, have it take you there, and then worry about getting the money to pay the fare after your loved one is admitted, rather than waste time running around asking for money to pay the fare before the ride? You are being very optimistic to assume that the taxi driver will waive the fare. If it has been a genuine case, I don't see anything wrong with the mother borrowing the money to pay for taxi fare and the hospital registration fee. After all, it only take like at most 1, 2 minutes to borrow the money rather than call the ambulance, wasting time giving them direction to come, and wait for the ambulance to be dispatched.
Yes, if the victim is wounded, it is probably dangerous to move him. However, in this case, it's a baby with severe fever. The best thing to do here is to grab a cab and go straight to the hospital rather than wait for the ambulance to come. -

The cheater's plot is credible because
1) Some muslim families are indeed so poor that at times, there will be no $ at home one.
2) It is common, that Muslim Men are really hardworking people, and they will work late shifts to earn more $ to support their family.
3) The cheater already knows that the neighbours living above me are muslim family, so it was easy to lie the premise of her story that she lives upstairs.
4) Manipulation of a mother's love for her infant child. Wah this really got to me. My heart jz caved in to this.
so Yeah. kudos to such a Brillant plot. KNN.. I admit defeat ler.. ;-( -

No matter how alert u are.. in times of emergency u will still fail to response rationally. My Prof is a clever person but kena "con" for 50k by stock. btw...my take on the scam is that I will most likely lend her the money too...but there is also a good point made above...that we should know our neighbours...

Well, i think that she can actually go to a&e first as it will take a awefully long time till payment. Your 50 also will not help as the minimum fee is more than 50. Let alone need to take cab there...

If really needed money hor.. Don't give to the party, directly give to the person who collect the payment.
Ie. Go hospital right, give to the $ taxi driver directly.
Go pharmacy right, give to the $ to Casher
