hmm. I didnt see the infant. Cz the logical deduction i made was that the mum could have decided not to carry the baby around, and that she decided it was better to leave the baby to rest at home 1st since, its afterall just 1 unit above mah.Originally posted by Prophecy_Master:i was wondering did u see her baby in her arms when she approach you ?
at least it wasnt a pontianak.Originally posted by New Creation:hmm. I didnt see the infant. But yeah Its a good point, because it is also plausible that.. she should be carrying her child with her, so she can hop on the cab. after borrowing the cash hor.
Sheez.. am i stupid or what?![]()
You must have been living in comfort thru out your life not to notice that there are plenty of less well-off people living Singapore.Originally posted by Lord_Nazrul:i would have ignored them.i do not believe that there are such poor and destitute ppl in singapore.should not the husband have anticipated that problems would arise in his absence!?
Many Singaporeans don't even know their neighbors living right next door, so it is reasonable not to know someone living above or below you...Originally posted by Xcert:btw...my take on the scam is that I will most likely lend her the money too...but there is also a good point made above...that we should know our neighbours...![]()

That mean TS have to follow the woman right to the hospital (will really respect him if he do in the middle of the nightOriginally posted by Darkness_hacker99:If really needed money hor.. Don't give to the party, directly give to the person who collect the payment.
Ie. Go hospital right, give to the $ taxi driver directly.
Go pharmacy right, give to the $ to Casher
I am not sure if the police will investigate the issue for just $50Originally posted by huiz:so did you make a police report?
If you break your arm, you will want to ambulance instead of worrying about money cause you have the money. There are people who refuse to visit the doctor when they are sick because they don't have extra cash to do so.Originally posted by Unidentified:It the same logic as beggar .
When they are really poor , they only want food
When child is sick , they just need medicine
If they want $$$ , the something is wrong ,
If you break your arm , will you want ambulance immediately or you want to borrow enough money just to make sure you are able to pay up
Bring them to hospital , or buy them food , if they refuse , then it $$ they want.
If they acept your help , they would rather want the ambulance than paper money
And im sure local clinic some of the doctor are kind enough to give lesser medication burden , unless they are those sort of business doctor then i got nothing to say.
It possible coz i seen poor old man see doctor , really no money type , the doctor give him free consultant and medication , and encourage him to come back for checkup. This is what i call a doctor.
Remember:
When someone is in distress , they will need help , much more than $$
They will worry about the money in later stage
I don't think anyone will think that much bah... and what if the person is really speaking the truth, will make the person feel fcked inside out more..Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:If really needed money hor.. Don't give to the party, directly give to the person who collect the payment.

The lady has to have a sick baby in the first place to pull this off.. Else the TS might ask ok the taxi here but wheres erm your baby?Originally posted by royston_ang:That mean TS have to follow the woman right to the hospital (will really respect him if he do in the middle of the night).
Even if TS directly hand the $50 to the taxi driver, the woman can just ask the taxi driver to stop when the taxi get out of TS sight and claim the remaining change of $40++.
Originally posted by Parka:If I have a car, I will offer to send both the lady and her baby to the hospital, petrol and everything cheaper than $50 some more..
Here's my advice to people who might be in a position to be scammed:
Always offer service instead of money.
Call the ambulance yourself when the lady wants money for transport.
Never ever give money because you'll not know what the money is going to be used for.
I don't think it's that difficult for the lady to get a baby to pull off the scam... Just make the baby cry all the way to make the baby look like really having a fever.Originally posted by DriftingGuy:The lady has to have a sick baby in the first place to pull this off..
